A 24-year-old Manhattan man fatally smashed his head as he was “subway surfing” on a downtown Brooklyn F train early Friday, police sources said.
The man was riding on top of a southbound F train when his head got slammed in the tunnel, causing him to fall between two train cars, sources said.
A straphanger on the platform of the Jay Street station made the grisly discovery as the train was stopped in the station and called 911 around 2:30 a.m., cops said.
First responders found the man unconscious and unresponsive with severe head trauma between the train cars and rushed him to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Sources said there was blood on top of the train.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
The man’s identity was being withheld pending family notification.
