About six months ago, Taylor Swift and her main girl-posse in “Bad Blood” were the coolest kids on the block.
Lately, they have failed to impress.
T-Swift recently unveiled a new (and questionable) shag on the May cover of Vogue. The country-pop princess shed her oft-girly and innocent image for something a little “edgier,” per the glossy’s styling direction. And while we respect Vogue’s style advice as much as the next person, Swift’s makeover left us scratching our heads in confusion. Bleach-blond locks might look good editorially, but they look tragically ratty and damaged IRL. Not to mention the whole “good girl gone bad” trope felt like a bad version of Sandy a la the final scene of “Grease” — très cliché.
Supermodel Karlie Kloss, also one of Swift’s BFFs, hasn’t been looking so hot, either. The 6-foot-something Victoria’s Secret Angel was recently spotted out in New York City walking her adorable terrier, Joe. The problem: Karlie’s dog’s mane looked healthier than her own. The supermodel has descended from fab to drab in a mere two months post-runway season. Luckily, she still has until September to turn it around.
Then, there is Cara Delevingne. The party-girl-model who once ruled the red carpets is now trading fancy dresses for frumpy threads. Just last week, Delevingne was spotted arriving to her sister Poppy’s party at the Chiltern Firehouse in London. She’s typically the center of attention — and celeb chatter — but her sweatpants and camo-print jacket were a far cry from her typically glam attire.
Alas, The Squad has fallen. Can they rise? Potentially.
We still believe in you ladies, even if you’ve given up on yourselves for the time being.
