Danielle Posner thought the phone call offering her two free tickets to “Hamilton” was a cruel joke.
More than a month had passed since a Craigslist fraudster crushed her dream of attending the hit Broadway musical by selling her fake tickets for $350.
A day later, she set up a sting with 10 cops from the 33rd Precinct that landed the alleged scammer in cuffs.
She made headlines in The Post but never got what she really wanted: tickets to the show, which received multiple Tony Award nominations.
That changed with a March 26 call from the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
“I didn’t believe them at first,” Posner said. “I couldn’t wrap my mind around actually seeing the show. I was like, ‘Are you serious?!’
“Then, when they insisted someone had donated tickets for me to go May 11th, my heart stopped.”
Asked who the ticket giver was, the theater spokeswoman said only, “An anonymous donor.”
Posner said she’s “incredibly grateful to whoever’’ it was.
The star, writer and director of the show is Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“His father, Luis, called me after the sting operation to say thank you,’’ Posner said.
When Posner’s big night arrived Wednesday, her stomach was knotted up with excitement.
She had bought a new hot-pink Rebecca Taylor dress and rushed from her teaching job in The Bronx to arrive before the 8 p.m. curtain.
“There was this charge in the room and intense energy that was indescribable,” she said, recalling when the first song began.
“The next day is like having a hangover,” she said. “I was coming down from this high that I’d been looking forward to for so long. I woke up like, ‘What do I have to look forward to now?’
“But I’ve already put my name in the lottery to go again.”
