The morning mayhem was triggered when a 16-year-old driver in a stolen Chevy Tahoe blew a red light on Remsen Avenue near the intersection of Winthrop Avenue, catching the attention of cops, who then began chasing him.
As he continued tearing down Remsen, the driver again blew a red light and slammed into a Nissan Pathfinder as it was traveling down Rutland Road.
The two cars careened in opposite directions and struck the women, who were walking along separate corners at the intersection of Rutland and Remsen, around 9:15 a.m. cops said.
One of the women — a mom pushing her 2-year-old boy — was critically injured, officials said.
“She was bleeding out the head; it look like she was already dead. Then she started moving,” said witness Eric Wiseman, 52.
Miraculously, the baby was mostly unharmed, he said.
“The baby carriage was flattened and collapse out on the curb. Then somebody else open the carriage and the baby was there like nothing happened to it,” the man said, adding that the child had no visible injuries.
“That was God,” Wiseman said. “If you would have seen it, there was no way you would have thought that the baby would have survived it.”
The woman was listed in critical condition at Kings County Hospital. Her son only had minor injuries and was treated at the same hospital.
The other woman — and the 10-month-old boy she was pushing — were in stable condition at Brookdale University Hospital.
The driver of the Chevy tried to run from the scene but police quickly took him into custody. Charges against him were pending.
