Red Sox fan drops home run ball, will be mocked for life

Mookie Betts launched a solo home run into the first row of the Green Monster at Fenway Park Saturday night, and one fan named Patrick was in the perfect position to go home with a souvenir — but the ball slipped through his hands and fell all the way back down to the field.

Patrick’s friend could not believe it.

Patrick broke down his error like a pro athlete in an interview later in the game.

“I got a good look at it, I saw it coming the whole way. I thought there was a chance that it was going to bounce off the wall. Next thing I know it’s in my hand, bounces out. That’s a ball you’ve got to catch.”
