Two masked robbers, including one with a gun, tied up two workers in a luggage-cart-rental service’s offices at Newark Airport and stole about $120,000, sources said.
The thieves walked into the Terminal B offices of Smarte Carte at 3 p.m. Sunday and bound the employees before making off with the cash, the sources said.
“It looks like an inside job,” one police source said.
After the heist, the tied-up employees managed to alert co-workers.
The case was being investigated by the Port Authority Police Department’s Newark Airport detective squad and the Newark office of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, a source said.
