One man was killed – and another wounded – in an early morning shooting today near two Bronx schools, police said.
The two men were sitting inside a car when they were shot at about 6 a.m. at the corner of Baychester and Schieffelin avenues – just steps from Bronx Alliance Middle School and Cardinal Spellman High School.
The 55-year-old victim took a bullet to his torso, and later died at Jacobi Medical Center. The other man, also in his 50s, was shot in the leg and is expected to survive.
The bullet-riddled silver Honda Accord the two were in came to rest after crashing into a tree.
No arrests have been made and it wasn’t immediately clear what led to the deadly shooting.
