Ever want to bench press and take bong hits at the same time? Well, Ricky Williams has the perfect gym for you.
The former NFL running back and noted marijuana user is launching a weed-friendly gym in San Francisco this fall, Time Magazine is reporting. The gym will be called Power Plant Fitness. There are plans for a smoking area on the outdoor balcony, customers can vape cannabis or eat edible marijuana.
“It won’t be a place to get high and just screw around,” said Jim McAlpine, founder of the 420 Games and Williams’ partner. “We are focused on the athletic side, not the cannabis side.”
McAlpine also promises a “cannabis performance assessment” to gauge how marijuana affects workouts.
“We will be helping our members figure out how is best for them to ingest their cannabis,” McAlpine said.
Williams tested positive for marijuana multiple times in his NFL career, leading to suspensions — and a brief retirement that he spent concentrating on holistic medicine. Williams, who won the Heisman Trophy at Texas, played for the Saints, Dolphins and Ravens in his 10-year NFL career.
