Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave neglected to take his own gun safety advice before he allegedly stormed into a packing Irving Plaza spraying bullets before a T.I. concert Wednesday night.
The hip-hop artist — who was charged with attempted murder for his role in the shooting that killed one and injured two innocent bystanders — wrote often about guns on Twitter.
The rapper was wounded by a gunshot to the leg. It is possible that he wounded himself with an errant discharge.
The artist tweeted in 2012 that he’d “rather accidentally get a bitch pregnant than catch a gun charge.”
The tweet came just after Troy Ave complained about a bad dream he had.
“Man i jus had a Nightmare that i got arrested with a Gun, i was mad upset,” he wrote.
The Crown Heights native was recovering in the hospital before his arraignment.
