GOP vice presidential candidate Mike Pence on Sunday defended Donald Trump’s claims that President Obama is the founder of ISIS, while the mogul attacked the media.
“He was making a very serious point. Donald Trump has a way of talking to get people’s attention, and it’s drawn attention to a very important issue,” Pence told “Fox News Sunday.”
At the same time, Trump intensified his war on the media, blaming the press for his struggling national poll numbers.
The GOP nominee spent the morning denouncing the New York Times after the paper published a story about an “exhausted, frustrated” and “bewildered” nominee who can’t be tamed by advisers.
“Their reporting is fiction. The media protects Hillary!” Trump tweeted.
“The failing @nytimes, which never spoke to me, keeps saying that I am saying to advisers that I will change. False, I am who I am-never said.”
He added, “If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn’t put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20 percent.”
