Conor McGregor isn’t a big fan of WWE, and it’s now apparent Brock Lesnar doesn’t think too highly of the UFC’s featherweight champion.
Interviewed ahead of Summer Slam and on the eve of UFC 202 Saturday night, Lesnar took exception to McGregor’s trash-talking of the WWE.
“I take s–ts bigger than that kid,” Lesnar told SIRIUS XM’s Sam Roberts. “I know you guys all play f–king video games and you live in this f–king false sense of reality and s–t. I’m 200 and f–king 90 pounds, all right, this guy is 145 pounds, and that’s if he’s lucky and gets up and f–king eats his Wheaties.”
Lesnar’s expletive-filled tirade comes in response to McGregor saying, during a conference call leading up to UFC 202 in Las Vegas, he doesn’t respect the WWE or its stars due to consistent doping.
“For the most part, those WWE guys are s–ts. To be honest, they’re messed up s–ts if you ask me,” McGregor said. “Fair play to Brock, he got in a fight, but at the end of the day he’s juiced up to the f–king eyeballs so how can I respect that?”
Lesnar fought Mark Hunt in UFC 200, his first time in the Octagon since his retirement from UFC in 2011, and won via unanimous decision. Lesnar dominated the fight, giving distance to avoid Hunt’s devastating power and taking advantage of his own superior strength and ground game.
But after the fight, it was revealed Lesnar failed two drug tests prior to UFC 200.
It’s why McGregor felt the need to double-down with a tweet after WWE stars such as CM Punk, Kurt Angle and Ric Flair aired their own grievances about McGregor’s comments.
Count Lesnar as one who doesn’t think that could happen.
“Come here face-to-face, Conor, and say it to my face,” he said. “Otherwise leave me and the f–king WWE out of it because I came to your arena and kicked ass. Now if you want and you’re so f–king tough, come to our arena and try to kick some ass.”
While McGregor would be out of his element in a WWE dominated by size and strength, he’s proven to have the charisma and the trash-talking skills needed for a crossover.
The proof is in the WWE’s stars fiery responses.
