Tom Brady is not allowed near the Patriots during his four-game Delfategate ban, but he clearly had a close eye on the team’s opener.
The Patriots quarterback took to his favorite social media site to congratulate his teammates after they upset the heavily favored Cardinals in Arizona on Sunday night. Not only were the Patriots without Brady, but star tight end Rob Gronkowski also missed the 23-21 victory with a hamstring injury.
While Brady remembered the Patriots on Facebook, the team has decided to get rid of a massive banner of him they had installed to show their respect for the future Hall of Famer.
“From end of preseason to today, we wanted to symbolize the fact he is on everybody’s mind and we love him,” Patriots president Jonathan Kraft said.
Brady is not allowed to have any contact with his teammates or the coaching staff during the ban, and is eligible to return to practice on Oct. 3.
