Josh Norman warned Odell Beckham Jr. about his friends. Maybe Beckham in turn has some allies planted close to Norman.
Norman’s tenure in Washington didn’t last six game minutes without incident, as he got in a heated argument with a teammate during the team’s 38-16 season-opening loss to the Steelers in Landover, Md., on Monday.
Norman, the mercurial cornerback who’s become a wrestling heel after his borderline WWE fight with Beckham last season, and safety David Bruton Jr. were caught on camera jawing on the sideline early in the first quarter. Norman advanced toward Bruton until defensive back DeAngelo Hall separated the two.
Hall, a 12-year veteran, shoved Norman back to his corner as he screamed at Bruton to back up, defusing the type of situation that Norman’s become known for — albeit this time with his own teammate.
Norman, a terrific cornerback, surprisingly was allowed to leave Carolina this offseason as a free agent. He signed a $75 million deal with Washington, guaranteeing two matchups per season with Beckham — but the fights apparently don’t even need a sparring partner on the other team.
