Two unlucky-in-love “Married at First Sight” alumni are taking another shot at finding romance on television — this time without the wedding vows.
FYI on Thursday announced it has ordered the spin-off series “Married at First Sight: Second Chances,” following Season 3 participants David Norton and Vanessa Nelson as they take part in multiple rounds of dating and courtship with men and women in their hometown in the Atlanta area. The 12-episode series, which is set to premiere next year, will also include guidance from “MAFS” experts Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson and Rachel DeAlto.
In Season 3, Norton’s wife Ashley Doherty never developed an attraction to him and asked for a divorce at the end of the six-week experiment, despite his wish to test the marriage after the cameras stopped rolling. Nelson and her husband Tres Russell initially chose to stay married at the end of the season, but their relationship fell apart shortly thereafter.
“Married at First Sight” Season 4 is currently airing, following three newlywed strangers in Miami. The most recent episode featured one of those couples breaking up after just two weeks together.
