If you think squeezing into a pair of tight pants in the morning isn’t enough of a challenge, well, Vogue has you covered. The fashion bible is trying to convince women to ditch their skinny jeans for even-more-painful-sounding “lace-up” trousers, after seeing pretty young things Kendall Jenner and Bella and Gigi Hadid sporting the preposterous pants.
The pants include skin-flashing “adjustable corset-like strings” that crisscross up the leg, which sounds a bit like what Olivia Newton-John had to go through when being sewn into her leather catsuit for the final scene of “Grease.”
But Vogue insists it’s “the easiest way to add some bite to any look.” Wear them dressed up, like Kendall, who donned a leather pair with a luxe leopard-print blazer. Wear them dressed down, a la Hailey Baldwin, who added some supposed bite to her bomber-and-hoodie combo with a light-wash denim version. Convinced? You can get a sleek black pair from Unravel for $2,611. That’s even more money than Kanye West paid for his ripped Met Gala jeans! Fancy.
