A little bit of Paris is coming to Soho.
French restaurateur Claude Louzon and his daughter, Julie, are launching next month their first Big Apple restaurant, designed from the ground up by legendary designer Philippe Starck.
It’s Starck’s first project in New York since the Hudson Hotel in 2000.
Miss Paradis, at 47 Prince St., at Mulberry, is a bi-level eatery created by Starck on the site of a former parking lot. The building’s roof is crowned by a massive sculpture — a 9- foot-tall chrome apple with an arrow through its center — that is, essentially, Starck’s love letter to New York.
The Mediterranean/California-influenced eatery will be a modern addition to Louzon’s Parisian hotspots, which include Le Paradis du Fruit and Miss Ko.
The chef at Le Paradis, Adir Cohen, of Tel Aviv’s Herbert Samuel and Yavne Montefiore, has created a vegetable- and fish-focused menu, with cold-pressed juices, smoothies, rosés and ciders.
Miss Paradis will seat 120 people and features a chic 25-seat wraparound bar that is also a communal table. Highlights include 30-foot-tall pillars, floor-to-ceiling fiberglass tree trunks, and a custom chandelier made in Murano, Italy, by Aristide Najean.
As restaurant guru Stephen Starr continues to expand his greatest hits with top-notch spots like Le Coucou and The Clocktower, as well as Upland, Morimoto and Buddakan, the catering arm that he sold last year is also in expansion mode.
Starr Catering Group, now owned by Paris-based Elior Group, is launching a coffee shop chain.
The flagship Parliament Espresso and Coffee Bar will open next month at the New-York Historical Society. The coffee bar will be adjacent to Storico, an upscale eatery that is also part of the Starr group.
