Robert Griffin III’s season to forget in Cleveland got worse without him even stepping on the field.
The Browns quarterback and girlfriend Grete Sadeiko allege they had money stolen from their car, which was parked in the players’ garage, during the team’s 27-13 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Griffin retweeted the post, which apparently was met with little sympathy from those responding to Sadeiko.
Griffin and his wife are going through a divorce, and he started dating the several-years-younger Florida State track athlete over the summer.
Griffin signed with the Browns this offseason, looking to revitalize a career that had fallen on hard times with the Redskins. But he injured his shoulder in the Browns opener and did not return to practice until this week.
“No doubt,” Griffin said at practice when asked if he still could be the Browns’ starter. “I have the confidence in that. I can’t speak for Coach or anyone else, but they’ve expressed that to me. I still feel I can be the guy for this team, for this organization, and I look forward to going out and proving it.”
It’s uncertain whether the 0-12 Browns, who mercifully are on a bye this week, plan on giving Griffin another opportunity to start.
