Fifth Avenue Desigual store closes after Black Friday
There will be less “sex, fun & love” on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 45th Street.
The Desigual store that had been at that location for a couple of years — the one with the giant poster of a model whose legs surround the entrance — closed after Black Friday, The Post has learned.
Workers were packing up the contents of the store on Monday.
Headquartered in Barcelona, with some 500 stores globally, the apparel chain is known for its colorful prints.
Desigual has two other Big Apple locations — in Soho and Herald Square. According to one source with knowledge of the company’s real estate plans, the Soho store is likely to close within the next six months.
The company did not return calls or answer emails seeking comment.
This month the company reported that sales in the third quarter declined 5.8 percent in France, Germany and Italy, according to a report by WWD.
Sales over the past nine months have declined by 6.8 percent, according to the report.
