The fire that killed 36 people during a dance party in an Oakland warehouse may have been sparked by a refrigerator, officials said Tuesday.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said the kitchen appliance was the “potential source for ignition” in Friday’s devastating blaze.
The agency cautioned that it was too early to determine for certain whether the refrigerator was the cause, and they were also looking at other appliances on the first floor.
Crews have searched 90 percent of the building looking for bodies.
The local sheriff’s office said they do not expect to find any more dead.
