Conspiracy theorists send death threats to Brooklyn pizzeria

Workers at a popular Brooklyn pizza joint received death threats after rumors spread online connecting the restaurant to Pizzagate — a bogus conspiracy about a child abuse ring headed by Hillary Clinton.

An employee at Roberta’s first received a phone call at the Moore Street eatery on Dec. 1 in which the caller stated, “You are going to bleed and be tortured,” according to police.

The next day, a worker fielded a similarly threatening call from someone asking if Roberta’s was involved in the Pizzagate conspiracy.

NYPD officers and brass interviewed employees on Wednesday.

The threats came after someone dragged the restaurant into the fabricated child abuse conspiracy by posting a video on YouTube that used images from Roberta’s social-media channels and set them to chilling music.

The video set off a firestorm on social media in which users passed around images pulled from the restaurant’s Twitter and Instagram accounts and claimed they contained occult imagery.

The flames were further fanned when one user dug up a photo of the Clinton family dining at Roberta’s back in 2012.

The Pizzagate conspiracy rumors originated around a Washington, DC, pizza restaurant called Comet Ping Pong, which was accused of being an underground child abuse and trafficking ring run by the Clintons.

Things nearly turned tragic over the weekend when a man from North Carolina showed up at the restaurant with a gun to investigate the rumors and opened fire.

President-elect Donald Trump has dismissed the theory and fired a member of his transition team who perpetuated it.
