Maybe Cowboys rookie sensations Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott have figured out how to catch z’s and thrills, how to pop open bottles and playbooks — or maybe they’re not taking the Giants too seriously.
Prescott, 23, and Elliott, 21 — the precocious MVP candidates who have lifted the Cowboys to an NFL-best 11-1 record — were spotted clubbing around Dallas on Monday night, during the work week leading up to Sunday night’s NFC East rivalry clash at MetLife Stadium.
TMZ reported the quarterback-running back duo were at So & So’s, and footage shows them drinking from bottles of champagne — what was left of the bubbly after they sprayed the crowd — while other clubgoers littered the air with paper bills.
A separate video shows Elliott, with more champagne, at Sidebar, another establishment a few blocks away.
For Elliott, a controversial figure who has fretted in the past about his drug tests, this may seem of a piece, but for Prescott, at least, it’s a departure from the buttoned-up, turned-down mindset he shared in the season’s early going.
Sports Illustrated reported glowingly how Prescott, before the Cowboys’ Week 3 game against the Bears — his record then at 1-1, 10 wins ago — rejected complimentary tickets to a Thursday night Kanye West show in Dallas.
“I wanted to go a little bit,” Prescott told the magazine. “But I just think about the perception of it all. And I love my sleep.”
Well, Prescott certainly seems to have gotten over the perception part. And the sleep? Either he was counting on having five more nights to rest up for the Giants game, or he’s confident he can beat Big Blue on, ahem, short rest.
