Donald Trump ripped nemesis Alec Baldwin on Wednesday, offering a critique of the actor’s imitation of him on “Saturday Night Live,” dismissing the comedy show as “not very good” — and speculating on how long it would remain on the air.
“His imitation of me is mean spirited and not very good,” Trump said on the “Today” show, shortly after he was named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. “His imitation of me doesn’t get me at all.”
Trump, who hosted “SNL” a year ago, continued: “Who knows how long that show will be on? It’s a terrible show.”
“SNL” ratings are up this year, with the last show, Dec. 3, showing a 7 percent increase from the same time last year. This season of the satirical show opened to the highest ratings since 2008.
“I hosted ‘SNL’ when it was a good show. There’s nothing funny about it,” Trump noted.
The president-elect’s gripes come after he blasted Baldwin Sunday morning at 12:13 a.m., as the show was still airing in New York.
“Just tried watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad,” said the commander-in-tweet.
