A photographer is raising money for animals with a series of unusual pooch portraits sure to give any dog lover a good belly laugh.

Jason Kenzie, of Vancouver, Canada, has captured dogs’ more vulnerable sides with funny, furry photos of the canines’ underbellies. And now, teaming with designer and friend Tania Ryan, he has collected the adorable results for a 2017 calendar as part of an effort called The Underdogs Project.

“Working with animals can be challenging and requires a lot of patience and treats,” Kenzie told Barcroft Media.

While he is keeping his methods a secret, the lensman admitted that it takes “quite a while” to set up the proper lighting and catch his frisky subjects at the exact right instant.

But Kenzie was pleased with the end results, saying there are “so many cute photos to choose from.”

The calendars, available online from underdogsproject.com, sell for $20 each, with Kenzie and Ryan promising to donate 35 percent of the proceeds to Thank Dog I Am Out, a Vancouver-based animal rescue organization.
