Police are trying to track down a thief who beat up a 40-year-old woman and forced her to strip during a robbery at a Kips Bay acupuncture center Wednesday, authorities said.
Surveillance video released Thursday shows the suspect running down the block shortly after the incident, which happened at Green Tea Acupuncture Wellness on East 28th Street near Second Avenue around 1 p.m.
The man walked in and began punching the woman in the face and body while demanding money, police said.
He then forced the victim to remove her clothes and stole approximately $500 before running away.
The woman was treated at an area hospital and released, officials said.
The suspect is described as black-Hispanic, stands around 6 feet 2 and weighs roughly 220 pounds.
He has blotchy skin, brown eyes and short, curly black hair, cops said. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a multi-colored backpack.
