President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced the senior members of his communications team.
He named Sean Spicer, the director of the Republican National Committee since 2011 and a long-time Trump loyalist, as his press secretary.
“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for this amazing honor,” Spicer tweeted minutes after the announcement.
Trump also selected Hope Hicks, his presidential campaign press secretary, as director of strategic communications. She’s been a Trump confidante since the beginning of the campaign.
Other Trump campaign stalwarts were rewarded with jobs in the White House, including spokesman Jason Miller, who will become director of communications, and Dan Scavino, who will become director of social media.
“Sean, Hope, Jason and Dan have been key members of my team during the campaign and transition. I am excited they will be leading the team that will communicate my agenda that will Make America Great Again,” said Trump.
