A four-alarm fire tore through at least 15 stores in Queens Friday evening, officials said.
Three of the 175 firefighters on the scene were injured, one seriously. He was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens. The others were treated at the scene.
The massive blaze started around 6:30 in a pizzaria and rapidly spread to the other businesses on Vleigh Place in Kew Gardens Hills.
Firefighters were still trying to get it under control more than two hours later.
At one point, the roof of the complex began to buckle and firefighters had to battles the flames from the outside.
