America’s college campuses are heading into the new year with no end in sight to their politically correct idiocy.
At the University of Kansas, students, staff and visitors now get to choose “gender inclusive” buttons to wear to promote a “welcoming environment.”
The buttons read “He/Him/His,” “She/Her/Hers” and “They/Them/Theirs.” It’s part of a “You Belong Here” campaign.
Seriously? Is this college or kindergarten?
Drexel University, meanwhile, finally decided free speech is worth supporting — but only in the case where a professor, George Ciccariello-Maher, wished for a “white Genocide” to kick off Christmas in a series of tweets. Yes, free speech is vital — but shouldn’t students paying Drexel’s $50,000-a-year tuition expect a little more sanity from their professors?
And the free-speech/open-debate mantra often goes in only one direction: Students at the University of Chicago, for instance, want to stop Donald Trump’s incoming press secretary, Sean Spicer, from addressing the school’s Institute of Politics — lest they “normalize” a Trump administration.
More: This month, the University of Maryland became another “sanctuary campus.” But in trying to be politically uber-correct, the university president delivered the news partly in Spanish. Oops: Students want him to apologize for dissing immigrants who speak other foreign languages.
Oh, boy. It looks like we’re in for another year of campus madness.
