Will you accept this rosé, Bachelor Nation? And no, we’re not talking about the long-stemmed flower made famous by “The Bachelor.”
With notorious runner-up Nick Viall set to begin his journey as the next suitor on Monday’s premiere, marketers are gearing up to cash in on what’s expected to be the most controversial installment in the show’s 21-season history.
While live-tweeting and viewing parties are nothing new for “Bachelor” fans, the folks at ABC are raising the stakes in the new year by giving viewers a chance to bet on Viall’s heart, with the official “Bachelor” fantasy league. Up until Jan. 16, fans can try to predict the final four contestants, including who will make it to the often-cringeworthy hometown dates and, of course, who will receive the final rose. The grand prize includes a trip for two to LA to watch the live taping of the “After the Final Rose” special that includes the introduction of the next “Bachelorette.”
If the fantasy league seems too hard-core for your casual fandom, Jimmy Kimmel is capitalizing on the “Bachelor” drama with some necessary fun-poking. Following the premiere, the host will head a perfectly titled prime-time special, “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Here for the Right Reasons” at 10 p.m. on Monday. Kimmel, who has hosted several surviving “Bachelor” couples on his late-night show — including Viall’s ex Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiancé of almost two years, Shawn Booth — will take a look at past “Bachelor” ladies looking to extend their 15 minutes of fame (here’s looking at you, Courtney Robertson and Olivia Caridi).
Favorite contestant get the boot? You can now eat and drink your emotions away while biding time until “Bachelor in Paradise,” by way of “Bachelor”-branded wine and candies. Yes, just in time for Season 21, these products actually exist.
With three aptly named varietals — the cabernet sauvignon Fantasy Suite, One on One chardonnay and the Final Rose rosé — the $16 “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” wines pair sweetly with Sugarfina’s newest Bachelor Collection of candies. Ranging from $18 to the $99 “Bachelor” Viewing Party Pack, these dainty delights — some of which are actually infused with rosé — are perfect for stress eating through that often-dramatic rose ceremony.
