The Brooklyn lounge where an 18-year-old man fired a gun before being shot by police early Wednesday is a notorious den of crime and violence, officials said.
The B-Hive in Crown Heights — where Joshua Martino started spraying bullets — was also the scene of a double shooting, at least three savage assaults and two cases of grand larceny in 2016, cops said.
Two men were shot in front of the Atlantic Avenue bar in February, one man was struck in the face with an object inside the bar in March, and a thief stole a number of purses in October, according to police records.
Martino fired his weapon inside the B-Hive at about 3:40 a.m. He was later shot by police when he turned toward them outside the lounge brandishing a .38-caliber revolver, officials said. He later died at Brooklyn Hospital.
The shooting of Martino took place just hours after police shot dead James Owens in Canarsie when he lunged at them with a 13-inch knife, officials said.
