Police arrested one of three crooks wanted for robbing at least five people — several of them elderly — in the Coney Island area since last November, authorities said Monday.
The 15-year-old suspect was busted Dec. 30 and participated in at least one of the incidents, cops said. His identity was not released.
The robbery spree started when they snatched the purse of a 61-year-old woman as she was entering her apartment building on West 33rd Street around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 30. They made off with a cell phone and $6 in cash.
On Dec. 19, they punched a 68-year-old man unconscious as he was standing outside a building on West 33rd Street and removed $120 in cash from the victim’s wallet.
The crooks resumed their thievery when they tried to beat up a 78-year-old man in the hallway of a West 30th Street building around 3:30 p.m. Dec. 27. The victim handed over $160 in cash, a MetroCard, a debit card and other property, cops said.
Two days later, they shoved an 82-year-old woman as she was walking near the corner of Mermaid Avenue and West 35th Street around 11:30 a.m. They stole her purse, which contained around $350.
Less than an hour later they kicked a 62-year-old woman in the back outside an apartment building on West 33rd Street, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground. The thieves left without taking anything.
