Johnny Manziel’s term of advising Donald Trump ended remarkably quickly.
The troubled and unemployed (if comeback-minded) former NFL quarterback dispensed some free Twitter wisdom to the president — then disappeared.
To Trump, who seemingly cannot stay off of the social media site, who allows critics, trolls and everyone in between to gnaw at him, Manziel suggested tuning out the discourse.
“Yo @POTUS even I know to stay away from the notifications section on twitter,” Manziel wrote Monday afternoon. “S–t will drive you crazy, lead the country and let them hate.”
And just like that, Manziel was gone.
As his post picked up viral steam, the former Heisman Trophy winner’s account was abruptly deleted, without explanation.
Perhaps he was not following his own advice and was reading the backlash that comes with Johnny Manziel offering guidance to Donald Trump.
Manziel, who bombed out with the Browns in 2015 after two seasons, left the league with a recently self-described drinking problem and a domestic violence case that was dismissed with a deal in December. Now he can probably cross off “Secretary of Social Media” from his possible landing spots.
