President Trump is planning to sign executive orders Tuesday advancing the construction of the controversial Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, Bloomberg News reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The Obama administration rejected the Keystone XL pipeline in November 2015 and it denied a permit for the Dakota Access oil pipeline late last year, granting a victory to people who protested the project for months.
The companies controlling both projects, TransCanada and Energy Transfer, did not respond to requests for comment from Bloomberg.
A spokesman for the Standing Rock tribe in North Dakota that started the protests against the Dakota Access pipeline told Bloomberg that the group will comment “if it happens.”
