A former high-ranking DEA agent caught lying to Uncle Sam about his ownership in New Jersey strip club and affair with a Brazilian stripper who worked there dodged prison Wednesday after he sobbed to the judge that his life has already been ruined by the conviction.
“I stand before you a disgraced husband and an outcast in my own profession,” David Polos told the judge through tears before landing one year on probation.
Polos — who was convicted of lying to the DEA about his ties to the dancer and the South Hackensack jiggle joint where she worked — can’t even get a job with Uber, his lawyer Marc Mukasey griped to the judge.
“He’s now broken and publicly shamed — a pariah among his former law enforcement colleagues,” Mukasey said.
Manhattan federal Judge Paul Gardephe sentenced Polos, who has helped take down members of the Escobar clan, to 250 hours community service.
He was fined $5,000.
