The White House has announced its new social secretary, touting her two decades-plus of “entertaining experience.”
Anna Cristina Niceta Lloyd, a longtime Washington event planner who goes by Rickie, will report to first lady Melania Trump and be responsible for state dinners and social events.
“Rickie brings with her over twenty-two years of solid diplomatic, political and social entertaining experience,” Melania Trump said in a statement Wednesday.
“I am looking forward to sharing my ideas and traditions of entertaining and social hospitality to America’s house, my new home as well,” the first lady added.
The first lady, who plans to continue living in Manhattan with her young son at least through the school year, has not yet announced since her husband came into office what initiatives she plans to focus on.
Niceta Lloyd, 46, comes to the White House with bipartisan experience, having helped to plan events for the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee alike.
Niceta Lloyd’s husband is Thomas Lloyd, the grandson of philanthropists Bunny and Paul Mellon. Bunny Mellon was a “friend and mentor to Jacqueline Kennedy,” the White House said, and helped design the Rose Garden.
