Hannah Jeter reveals she’s pregnant in ode to Derek

Derek and Hannah Jeter are adding a new member to their team.

The Yankees legend’s wife announced Monday that she is expecting their first child, a girl.

“Big moments also have a funny way of making you look ahead,” Hannah Jeter wrote in a post on her husband’s sports Web site, The Players’ Tribune. “Now, pregnant with our first child, Derek and I are looking to the future.”

While the couple did not reveal what their daughter’s name will be, the mom-to-be said her hubby has already decided what their future little slugger will be called.

“He already has a name in mind — he’s set on it. (We’ll see.),” Hannah wrote. “Whatever her name is, I know she’ll run circles around him.”

She said DJ regularly calls her during the work day to ask: “So how are you and so-and-so doing?”

“That’s not the name yet, sweetie,” the model wife said she responds.

Hannah said she and Derek want their children to live as “normal” a life as possible.

“They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. They’re going to have to be some strong little people. We don’t want them to be defined by their dad’s name — for them, we want him to just be ‘Dad,’” Hannah wrote.

As for whether their baby-to-be takes a swing at sports, Hannah says, “We’re gonna have a little talk first.”

Jeter, 42, retired from baseball at the end of the 2014 season, meaning their little bundle of joy — and her possible future siblings — will never see DJ playing in the Major Leagues.

“I feel some sadness — and Derek must as well — thinking about how our children will never get to experience that time in his life,” Hannah wrote.

Jeter’s final night, Sept. 25, 2014, in The Bronx was a memorable one. His RBI bottom-of-the-ninth single gave the Yankees a dramatic walk-off win — and the perfect bow on the sure-fire Hall of Famer’s career.

“We can show them videos, and photos, and memorabilia — I already can’t wait to show them footage of that last night at the Stadium,” Hannah wrote.

“But I know it won’t be quite the same. I’ll tell them myself: You had to be there.”

The couple tied the knot in Napa last July.

Yankees TV play-by-play man Michael Kay offered his congratulations on the baby news but warned The Captain that his life will never be quite the same.

“Congrats to Derek and Hannah Jeter on their joyous announcement,” Kay tweeted. “Derek, a baby girl will now change your life like you won’t believe. Enjoy!”
