Ex-high school star arrested for counterfeit cash, stolen credit cards

A former Brooklyn hoops star was busted with counterfeit money, fake and stolen credit cards and a forged driver’s license, authorities said Tuesday.

Thaddeus Hall, 23, was arrested in Jersey City, NJ, at the Grove Street Path station at around 5:30 p.m. after Port Authority police spotted him entering without paying, according to cops.

Officers stopped the onetime Thomas Jefferson High School basketball sensation and searched him. Police said they discovered 22 counterfeit $100 bills, a stolen bank card, a fraudulent credit card, a stolen credit card, and a forged North Carolina driver’s license with a name other than his own.

Hall was taken into custody and charged with credit card theft, possession of forged documents, and theft of service.

His arrest comes five years after the 6-foot-5 shooting guard led Jefferson to its first Brooklyn AA and Brooklyn borough titles. He also helped the East New York team make it to the Public Schools Athletic League Class AA final before committing to South Carolina in 2012.

The Post reported at the time that Hall chose the SEC school over St. John’s, Hofstra and Maryland. He struggled academically his senior year, though — and after winding up in a homeless shelter, moved down south to attend Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Miss., and University of Tennessee at Martin.

While he helped lead Jones to a NJCAA Division I national championship in 2014, it’s unclear if he ever played with the Skyhawks.
