President Donald Trump would do anything for … meatloaf.
The commander in chief is making all of his friends who visit him at the White House try his “favorite” comfort food, according to longtime confidant Tom Barrack.
“By the way, his favorite dish was meatloaf. The lunch was terrific,” Barrack told CNN earlier this week. “The meatloaf is incredible.”
Barrack and Trump lunched together days after the president raved about the White House kitchen’s meatloaf to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who also gave his stamp of approval.
“This is what it’s like to be with Trump. … He says, ‘there’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want,’ and then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf,'” Christie said after a White House visit on Feb. 14. “The meatloaf was good.”
Trump’s meatloaf mania is nothing new.
He and First Lady Melania whipped up his “favorite” meatloaf sandwich on Martha Stewart’s show in 2005.
And in 2012, the president hailed his mom’s recipe in a tweet promoting his Trump Bar & Grill in Trump Tower.
“Best meatloaf in the City—my mother’s famous recipe,” he wrote.
