President Trump will host Chinese President Xi Jinping in Mar-a-Lago for a two-day visit next month, according to a report.
Trump and Xi will meet at the president’s Palm Beach, Fla., resort — which he’s dubbed the “Winter White House” and “Southern White House” — on April 6-7, Axios reported.
The planned meeting comes after a long campaign in which Trump promised the American people he’d be tough on China.
“We can’t continue to allow China to rape our country, and that’s what they’re doing,” Trump said at a campaign rally last June.
But since becoming president, Trump has already softened a bit on Eastern power. While Trump had previously signaled he would not necessarily support a “One China” policy, he backed off that position in a recent phone call with Xi.
