The Lutetia
This Left Bank landmark opened in 1910, hosting the likes of James Joyce, Pablo Picasso and Josephine Baker. It closed in 2014 to undergo a massive renovation that will preserve its historical aspects while adding a new courtyard space, expanding the spa and brasserie and converting the salon into a jazz club. Suites will be enlarged, bringing the number of rooms down from 231 to 190. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2018.
The Hoxton Paris
The latest outpost of the hip Hoxton mini-chain will open this spring in the 2nd arrondissement inside a 16th-century building designed by Etienne Rivie, a counselor to King Louis XIV. It will feature 172 rooms, along with a restaurant, café and speakeasy-style bar.
Hôtel de Crillon
When this legendary Belle Epoque property reopens this summer under the Rosewood brand, expect some very fashionable changes. Karl Lagerfeld reimagined two of its 124 rooms; Tristan Auer, responsible for the boutique hotel hot spot Les Bains Paris, is one of three local designers transforming the interiors. A pool and spa will be added at the basement level; the hotel will also have a gourmet restaurant, bar and winter garden.
