The NYPD took to Twitter Wednesday to seek information about a judge who was found dead last week along the Hudson River.
“The #NYPD is seeking info on the death of Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam,” the “Information Needed” notice posted on the 26 Precinct’s Twitter feed reads. ”Anyone with info is asked to call our detectives at the numbers listed.”
Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam’s family reported the 65-year-old missing on April 12. Her body was found floating in three feet of water near West 132nd Street later the same day, cops and sources said.
She was last seen wearing a charcoal grey sweatshirt which zipped in the front with the word “Canada” written on it in red letters bordered by white across the chest. Under that, the word “Vancouver” was written in white letters, the notice says.
She was wearing black sweat pants, white ankle socks and white New Balance sneakers.
Cops from the 26 Precinct, where her body was found, are seeking anyone with information about her death and anyone who had contact with her during the days before her death.
Police sources have said the judge, the first African American woman to sit on the state’s highest court, had suffered with depression and that suicide was suspected.
