It’s the previous administration’s fault that the vicious MS-13 street gang managed to take root in America, President Trump claimed on Tuesday.
Trump, without citing any evidence, tweeted at 5:39 a.m. Tuesday, “The weak illegal immigration policies of the Obama Admin. allowed bad MS 13 gangs to form in cities across U.S. We are removing them fast!”
The tweet came ahead of his appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” which aired Tuesday morning.
During the segment, he boasted how his administration has already booted violent “illegal immigrants” out of the country.
“We’ve gotten tremendous criminals out of this country. I’m talking about illegal immigrants that were here that caused tremendous crime that have murdered people, raped people – horrible things have happened. They are getting the hell out, or they are going to prison,” Trump said.
“So many towns and cities are thanking me because we have gotten rid of a burden you would not believe,” the president said. “It is a serious problem and we never did anything about it, and now we’re doing something about it.”
MS-13, a transnational crime organization based in Central America which now has its tendrils across the US, is suspected in the recent brutal murders of four young men on Long Island.
The FBI set up a national task force to investigate MS-13 in 2004 – before Barack Obama was elected president.
