A teenager who stole cash from a newsstand in Manhattan on Monday was electrocuted by the third rail of a subway track when he fled cops and ran into the tunnel, sources said.
The 19-year-old male had just swiped the cash from a vendor when he ducked into the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station at around 3 p.m., according to police sources.
Once he was spotted, the thief hopped onto the tracks to flee and came into contact with the third rail, sources said.
He was electrocuted and later found dead inside the tunnel.
Northbound No. 4/5 trains were running local from Grand Central Terminal to 125th Street on Monday.
