Thieves piss away stolen money after setting it on fire
Two dimwits who allegedly robbed an ATM pissed away their loot when they accidentally set the dough on fire — and then tried to douse the flames with their own urine, according to a new report.
Police said surveillance video shows one of the alleged suspects — Eli Steen or Jason Kovar, both 31 — urinating on the flaming cash after they’d stolen it out of the ATM at Coastal Community Bank early Tuesday in Washington state, according to Q13 Fox.
The men allegedly used a blowtorch to break into the drive-up ATM and caused more than $35,000 worth of property damage to the bank, HeraldNet reported.
“They attempted to get into the ATM and it looks like they used a blowtorch, which caught the currency on fire and created a little fire damage,” said John Dickson, the head of Coastal Community Bank.
Steen and Kovar, both from Everett, are also wanted for questioning in other burglaries in the area.
Crime Stoppers and the bank are offering $6,000 for information leading to their arrest on arson and burglary charges.
