Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV, a pay-per-view event Sunday night from Orlando, Fla., publicly reunites Jeff Jarrett with the wrestling outfit he co-founded with his dad in 2002.
Jarrett left Impact, also known as TNA, in December 2013 after feuding with then-president Dixie Carter.
He then founded Global Force Wrestling, which produced between 60 and 70 live events through March of this year.
Jarrett didn’t waste a minute, though, once Toronto-based Anthem Sports & Entertainment took a majority interest in Impact and sent Carter into the turnbuckle.
He returned as a creative consultant as part of the deal in January, announced plans to merge his GFW with Impact in April and closed on the merger last week.
“As we come together this Sunday, it’ll be the biggest day for Anthem, Impact and GFW by far,” Jarrett told On The Money’s Richard Morgan. “We’ve even got the Mayor of Orlando proclaiming its Impact Wrestling Day.
Jarrett serves the combined operation as chief creative officer – a task handled by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan until a messy legal battle last fall made for more drama outside the ring than inside.
