Grand Central will pick up some of Penn Station’s slack as Amtrak spends the summer repairing the crumbling west side transit hub, Amtrak announced Monday.
Six of the company’s daily Empire State trains, which normally run between Penn and Niagara Falls, will leave from Grand Central instead on weekdays between July 10 and Sept. 1.
Two of the service’s Friday trains have been canceled, but one weekend locomotive will still depart from Penn each day, according to Amtrak.
The company announced earlier this year that it is also canceling several trains on its Northeast Regional and Keystone Service lines.
