Developer Richard Kurtz’s stone mansion at 18 Frick Drive in Alpine, NJ, is back on the market — for $39.9 million.
The doomed listing — which was once the priciest in the Garden State — has been on and off the market since 2010, when it burst onto New Jersey’s tepid real estate scene, asking a mind boggling $68 million.
“It’s a gorgeous home in a phenomenal location. But its price is still too high,” one broker said.
The 30,000-square-foot home comes with lots of bells and whistles, which Gimme Shelter toured long ago.
There’s an indoor basketball court, a gym, a movie theater and a 4,000-bottle wine cellar.
“It’s a fabulous house. But it started off at the wrong price. It could still move, but it is still priced above market,” our spy said. The listing brokers are Douglas Elliman’s Lisa Poggi, Noble Black and Jennifer Stillman.
