PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania probation officer has been sentenced to jail time after being convicted of coercing women under his supervision into sex acts.
Former Allegheny County probation officer Matthew Mullen was ordered Monday to serve three to six months in jail followed by two years of probation.
The 36-year-old pleaded guilty in April to misdemeanor charges of official oppression, witness intimidation and harassment.
Investigators say Mullen had one woman send him an explicit photo in exchange for keeping her out of trouble for driving without a license. Another woman said she engaged in sex acts with Mullen because she feared getting into trouble if she didn’t.
One of the women filed a civil lawsuit against Mullen last month.
