A cabbie was killed early Saturday when he slammed his car into a flatbed truck in the Bronx, police said.
The driver, 45, was on the Cross Bronx Expressway near Castle Hill Avenue in Unionport around 1:55 a.m. when he plowed the back of the truck, cops said.
He was pronounced dead on scene. His name has not been released pending family notification, and cops did not know what kind of cab he was driving.
The cabbie’s fare, a woman, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
The flatbed driver was tending to a broken-down vehicle on the road at the time of the crash and was not injured, said cops, who think speed may have been a factor in the accident.
