Disturbing video shows man’s attack with broken glass
Disturbing footage released by police shows a man using broken glass to attack an acquaintance inside a Manhattan bodega.
The duo met by chance inside the Hamilton Deli on Broadway near West 139th Street in Hamilton Heights around 11:40 a.m. on Aug. 6, cops said.
Suddenly, the attacker pulled two glass beverage containers out of a refrigerator and smashed them together, before slashing and stabbing his rival with the pieces, surveillance video released Friday by police shows.
An accomplice blocked the door, in an attempt to prevent the victim from escaping.
The victim had owed several thousand dollars to his attacker — who he knew by the nickname Guelito, police sources said.
He was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital for cuts on his arms and wrists, and scratches to his back and underarms, police said.
Both the attacker and his accomplice remain at large, cops said.
