Cops fatally shot a Bronx man who came charging at them with a knife and a fake gun on Wednesday night, police sources told The Post.
The incident happened near Seton Falls Park at 3700 Pratt Ave, the sources said.
Officers were conducting a wellness check on the man — described by police as an emotionally disturbed person — after receiving calls from concerned neighbors, who hadn’t seen or heard from him in awhile.
Upon entering his residence, cops found the knife-wielding man in his back bedroom and ordered him to drop the weapon.
“Put it down!” they said repeatedly.
The man ignored their warnings, though, and went after the officers with the knife — prompting them to open fire.
“He had the knife in his left hand,” a source explained. “Wellness talked to him then used a Taser. When hit with it, he raises right hand and has what appears to be a small gun.”
The firearm, which was fitted with a laser, appeared to be an imitation pistol, the source added.
Paramedics rushed the man to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.
Police later found a Jamaican passport on him, though it’s unclear if he was originally from there.
